THE JOURNEY OF A MILLION MILES

We recently partnered with social practise artist Tiffany Singh to provide a documentary film element to her exhibition The Journey of a Million Miles, where she has been working with former refugees from the Auckland Resettled Community Coalition (ARCC) to bring their stories to a wider audience.

The short film below tries to highlight the importance of listening to someone else's story from their point of view and how that can open your eyes to the experience of those around you.

WHY WE MOVE

As part of Tiffany Singh's 'The Journey of a Million Miles' exhibition we had the chance to exhibit a film seperate from the documentary element. This film takes the stories of three dancers who migrated to New Zealand at different points in their life and portrays them abstractly through movement. Each dancer told me their story and then I asked them to replay that story in their mind as they moved freely. The result is captured below.
